Organic Growth Strategies For Your Business

For many of us working moms, our businesses are our “other” babies. And just like our human children, we love to see our business grow! Today I wanted to talk to you about how to organically grow your business, and strategies you can put in place to start growing your business, for FREE, today! These strategies are great if you’re just starting out, don’t have a budget for paid marketing, or have been in business for a while and are thinking about expanding into spending some money on marketing. I always recommend exhausting your organic options first, and then consider adding in some paid options. You may be surprised how much organic growth you accomplish, and how many people are growing their business without spending all their income on ads!! So, what’s the secret? I’m about to spill the tea:


ICA- I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a million more times. It is time to get clear on who your ideal audience is. And then, to go a step further, your Ideal Client Avatar. The more clarity you have on your ICA, the easier ALL of your marketing will become! When you know exactly who you’re talking to, and everything about them, you will be able to create your content for them specifically! This is how you get people to stop the scroll and hear what you’re saying.


Engagement- Spending timing engaging, especially with your ICA, is a big growth hack! Oftentimes, we show up on social and “post and ghost” (that’s good right, I wish I could say I made it up lol). Instead of posting your amazing content and putting down the phone, spend some intentional time engaging with your target audience. LIking, commenting, adding value to their content will encourage them to come over to your page and do the same. And then, when your content has been created specially for their needs, they stay! Booyah!


SEO- SEO has become one of those buzz words lately, and you may still be confused about what it really means. SEO stands for “search engine optimization”, and there are a ton of “secret” places you can up your SEO game! Did you know your instagram bio acts as a search engine? A lot of people don’t! And SEO just means you are optimizing anything that can be used as a search engine. Think keywords! Remember everything we have talked about with your ICA? What are people searching for? These are the words you want to make sure you include when you’re working on your SEO. So, I’ll share one major secret with you now. Head over to your instagram bio and change your name plate to your title, what your want to be known for, what your ICA is searching for. This is a great place to start! But instagram isn't the only place where SEO is important, or easy to optimize. Make sure you are using keywords on your website, blog, and even social media posts!


#s- Love em or hate em, hashtags are a great and fairly easy way to grow. But, it will take a little research and time to get them right. When you’re creating your #s, make sure that you are paying attention to the #s your ICA is interested in, and #s that people you want as your audience will be searching. If you’re still confused on #s, I have a whole episode about them that you can go back and check out, but #s basically help get your content in front of the eyes you want to see them. Choosing the right #s can be powerful. And paying attention to your insights and playing around with different #s to see what works for you is the best way to create your own hashtag formula. Don’t forget to throw a couple branded #s in there so people can binge your content when they click on them, and don’t get sucked into the old copy and paste # trap (guilty…). Make sure you switch them up depending on your content.


Reels- I said it. You know it’s true as well as I do. Just give em’ a try and see what happens. The organic reach from reels is incredible! Remember, reels are created to educate, inspire, or entertain. Godspeed, mamas.


Opt Ins- Email marketing has quickly become one of my favorite ways to market… maybe even more than social media, cause you know ya girl loves to write! But, the key to email marketing is growing your list, and the best way to do this is with a killer opt in! Opt ins are freebies you offer someone in exchange for their email address. Once they give you their precious email, you return the favor with your freebie. The more inlign with your ICA’s needs your opt in is, the more intentional growth you’ll see happening. Your email list will fill with your dream clients, and you can use your email to build a special bond with the readers. You already won them over with a freebie, and you can continue to give them perks in the email like inside scoops, first to know, early access, and special discounts. Talk about building that like, know, trust!


Clubhouse- I’m still obsessed with CH because it is basically my number one lead source these days! The power of this audio only app has quickly become a favorite of many business owners! You can connect with people on such a deeper level, quickly, by using this app. And the link between this app and instagram growth has been huge! Connect on CH, position yourself as a leader in your industry, a helper, or an encourager, and continue the connection on the gram’, in the DMs, and hopefully our email list!


Facebook Groups- We don’t talk much about FB much over here, but there is something to be said about the power of FB groups. Finding FB groups full of your ICA, and positioning yourself as the “go to girl” on all topics (not just things related to your business) will definitely get some eyes on you! Find a local FB group and start answering questions! And, to take it a step further, you can even start your own FB group and start providing value!


Provide Free Resources- Speaking of providing value, we all know that everyone loves something for free. Most people have a “what’s in it for me” mindset, and showing up and leading with value and connection will answer their burning question. Now, I am not saying work for free or give the best stuff away. I am saying, create resources to give people a taste of what you have to offer. Be personal, find things that are relatable, help. Create resources that can easily be shared like blogs and podcasts, and go all in on becoming known as the expert in your field.


Be You- And at the end of the day, you want to grow an audience that knows the REAL you. You know this is kind of my thing, and I talk about this ALL THE TIME… but that’s because it’s really important. People just want to connect with other people. Don’t try to be perfect, just be a human. Be yourself, share your stories, and encourage your audience to feel safe enough to do the same.
